Four Word Self Help by Patti Digh

Simple Wisdom for complex Lives. What more could I ask for? This book’s title and subtitle really tells you everything you need to know about it. Life can be easy. All you need is a wee book.

I recently had occasion to interview the author. She was in my house for about 20 hours. We made merry. We were indeed up talking until about 2:30 in the morning. Did I even break out my list of questions?

Patti Digh is one of my very favorite people on this planet. Her generous spirit affords an instant connection that you just know has happened before. She is doing real work in the world for social change. There is something genuine and tangible about her that is so appealing. When I say “I heart Patti Digh,” and I try to remember to say it often, it is from a place that runs deeply in my soul.

I first discovered Patti on her blog, 37 days. I came across it during the summer of 2008. I was immediately drawn in by her honest and open writing. After reading what was current that day, I went back to the blog’s beginnings. Amazing and powerful stuff. Then I saw a link for retreats and knew right away, I would be attending one.

The Patti Digh retreat experience was something I could never do justice in trying to describe. Everyone should experience this first hand and decide for themselves. The friendships I made in that short weekend will sustain me throughout the second half of my life’s journey, whether, I have 37 days, 37 years, or any as yet undetermined quantity of time left to live it.

You can go to Amazon right now and get a copy for yourself. And while your there, add this to your cart. And maybe preorder this. These books should all be high school required reading. And college required reading. And life required reading. My Patti Digh library will always have room for more of whatever Patti has to say. She is one of the greatest voices this world has to offer, and I intend to listen at every opportunity.
